As news of lead concerns in cities such as Newark dominate headlines, we’re continuing to learn more about how deeply this issue affects many communities across the country. Here at 120Water we’re committed to providing continuing education and insights to help facility managers and public water systems manage lead programs and protect public health. We’re excited to continue our webinar series of inviting guests who’ve worked directly in such programs to share their insights and learnings.
Join us on August 21 at 4pm EST for our Lead In Drinking Water Webinar to learn new insights from the school & childcare facility community. The webinar will be lead by Erica Walker, 120Water’s director of Lead Programming, and guests include Caroline Pakenham (Water Program Manager at Elevate Energy) and Patricia Martinez (Maintenance Services Office at Merrillville Community School Corporation).
“Lead testing programs for schools and childcare facilities are on the rise. In fact, in 2019-2020 all 50 states will be offering some lead sampling assistance to schools and/or childcare facilities as part of EPA’s WIIN Grant.
Join us on August 21st as members of the school and childcare facility community share insights and best practices informed by their experiences with a voluntary initiative in Indiana and regulatory requirement in Illinois.
Our speakers will address the challenges and helpful tips associated with conducting testing, coordinating with staff, remediating problems and communicating clearly and effectively with the community throughout this process.
This session will be relevant to state agencies eager to hear community perspectives as they work to offer needed lead testing support as well as school and childcare facilities interested in learning about water quality management and upcoming opportunities to test.”
