Inc. today announced its seventh annual Female Founders list, honoring a bold group of 250 women whose innovations and ideas are shaping the world into a better place. The founders cross all industries and bring with them unique stories of success from each stage of the entrepreneurial journey — from startup to going public, being acquired by big buyers, or spending decades at the helm of an organization. They are reinventing everything from shoes to food and are challenging issues like financial literacy and reproductive health.
“I am honored to be included among this group of phenomenal women who are making a mark in their respective industries and communities. My thanks to Inc. for highlighting female founders who are working every day to build and expand businesses making a difference,” said Megan Glover, co-founder and CEO, 120Water.
With Megan’s leadership, 120Water is expanding nationwide at a rapid clip as states seek to modernize their water testing and data management and reporting. This accolade comes after a recent $43M equity investment by growth equity firm Edison Partners in January. To date, seven states including Indiana, Georgia, Arizona, Delaware and Oregon are partnering with 120Water to protect public health and provide clean drinking water to their communities. Other cities and government agencies include the City of Newark, the City of Providence, the City of Buffalo, and Chicago Public Schools and the Cherokee Nation.
Each year, Inc. editors review thousands of applications highlighting female founders who are challenging the status quo and tackling some of the world’s biggest problems. The list features women who have overcome challenges and lifted those around them, while leading impactful organizations across the country. They join the ranks of previous honorees including Jessica Alba, Tracee Ellis Ross, Rihanna, and Shonda Rhimes.
“The past year, for many, will go down as one of the hardest ever—between a funding freeze and ad-spending pull back. The female founders on this year’s list are a testament to what triumph over adversity looks like,” said Diana Ransom, executive editor, Inc. “They should all be proud of this singular accomplishment.”
In addition to the recent Inc. accolade, Megan has received the 2022 Young Alumni Award from DePauw University, its 2021 Robert C. McDermond Medal for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, and the 2021 Leader of the Year Award from the Indiana Chamber Dynamic. Megan was also named as a 2020 Midwest Finalist for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year, and one of Indiana Business Journal’s 2018 Forty Under 40 recipients.
